Coast Guard Festival
Dedicated to the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard, this festival dates back 84 years to 1924, when the very first guardsman family picnic was held at the Life Saving Station in Grand Haven. The Coast Guard itself celebrates 218 years of long-standing service. There are plenty of special events throughout the ten day family event Which include, tours of the Cutter Escanaba, parades, carnival rides, picnics, entertainment and nightly performances of the “World’s Largest Musical Fountain ” along the waterfront, a Street Dance and fireworks.

South Haven's Blueberry festival!
South Haven, Michigan self-proclaimed blueberry capital of the world. The harbor city's National Blueberry Festival . The festival takes place the first weekend of August each year. Each year from Thursday through Sunday, nearly 50,000 people gather in South Haven Michigan. The festival is one of 40 blueberry festivals nationwide and is considered the longest running event. Before 1969 it was considered a local event, but the amount of people showing up prompted organizers to change the name to "National". Visitors to the event can partake in crazy foods like blueberry coffee, bratwurst and spaghetti.

Elvisfest!
The Michigan Elvisfest is held in Ypsilanti.Usually in July, this upcoming year it will be held on July 9th and 10th. It's a massive tribute to the late Elvis. Which features Elvis Tribute Artists of North America and other Great Legend Impersonators. The Michigan Elvisfest began back in 2000, and has been a hit since. You can also enjoy the Elvis Autorama; supposedly the best barbeque North of Memphis, karaoke, Elvis style wedding, children's fun area, memorabilia and more.Video: 3:10-3:30

America's Thanksgiving Parade
This is one of Detroit's largest and free events. It's one of the countries oldest and most celebrated parades. In the spirit of the event, this year, they are holding a food drive for those less fortunate. It starts at 9:20 A.M. on November 26th.

Fifth Third Turkey Trot!
The fifth third turkey trot is a race, held the morning of thanksgiving before the parade. It's where you wear crazy costumes while they walk or run the race. Making it the "parade before the parade". The person with the most originality, and best execution win a prize for their costumes. Also, of course, the winners of the race get prizes. This year there is giant inflatables at major turns and two fun stations beside water stations. This year marks the 27th year of the turkey trot.

Silver Bells in the City
Silver bells in the city is held in Michigan's state capitol, Lansing. A fantastic light parade followed by lighting of Michigan's official Christmas tree, and if the weather is good, fireworks. It attracts nearly 120,000 attendees, this year will mark the 25th anniversary. The event is filled with free family entertainment. And made possible by nearly one-hundred sponsors, they contribute more than 80,000 dollars in cash and 120,000 in in-kind support. Held November, 20th this year from 5 until 9.
